The studio is where most people begin.
A private, fully guided boudoir experience in Glasgow: built for anyone who isn't sure they're ready, and is ready to discover that they were.
STEP INTO YOUR POWER
You've probably looked at boudoir photography before and thought: that's not for someone like me.
Maybe you don't feel comfortable in your own skin right now. Maybe your body has changed, after children, after illness, after a relationship that took something from you. Maybe you've spent so long being your own harshest critic that the idea of being photographed feels almost absurd.
That's not a reason not to do this.
That's exactly the reason to.
The studio exists for people who arrive carrying all of that, and leave having set some of it down.
You are a work of art.
Boudoir isn't one thing. It's a starting point.
Most people arrive with a fixed idea of what this looks like: solo, in lingerie, in a studio. And that is absolutely one version of it. But it's only one.
A boudoir experience can be anything that allows you to feel seen, celebrated, and connected to yourself. Here are some of the ways people have made it their own:
Solo boudoir Just you. No occasion required, no explanation needed. Wanting this for yourself is reason enough.
Couples boudoir An intimate, private experience shared with a partner. The perfect date!
Maternity boudoir You find yourself in a powerful chapter of your life. This is a chance to pause in the middle of it and honour exactly where you are, before this particular chapter closes.
Wedding boudoir A confidence boost before the big day! A moment of calm that's yours alone, and perhaps the most beautiful surprise you could ever give your partner. Whatever the reason, you deserve to feel extraordinary before you celebrate your love.
Shibari boudoir The Japanese art of rope combined with the intimacy of boudoir. Bold, artistic, and deeply personal. If this speaks to you, it's worth exploring.
Milestone and celebration boudoir A birthday that feels significant. An anniversary. A divorce that marks the beginning of something, not just the end. A chapter you've survived and want to mark. There is no milestone too small to celebrate, and no story too complicated to deserve photographs.
Personal ritual boudoir Not every booking needs a reason that fits neatly into a category. Sometimes people book because they've spent years putting themselves last and they're done with that. Sometimes they book because a therapist suggested it. Sometimes they don't fully know why, they just know they need it.
All of it is welcome here.
The Full Experience, Step by Step
01 The Consultation
Every experience begins with a private video consultation. Not a sales call. A real conversation.
You'll talk about what brought you here, what you're hoping to feel, and what worries you most. We will take the time to answer every question honestly, walk you through exactly what to expect on the day, and help you think through your outfits and the look you want to create.
You'll also receive a full preparation guide: covering everything from what to bring, to how to prepare your skin, to what to do with nerves when they arrive on the morning of your session.
By the time you arrive at the studio, nothing feels unknown.
02. The Experience
You arrive. There's music. There are warm drinks. There is no rush.
Before a single photograph is taken, we will take the time to make sure you feel genuinely settled: not just politely comfortable, but actually at ease. This sometimes takes ten minutes. Sometimes it takes longer. It doesn't matter.
Throughout the session, you are guided through every movement, every expression. You don't need to know what to do with your hands. You don't need to know how to stand. You don't need modelling experience, or confidence, or a body you've made peace with yet. All you have to do is show up.
Sessions run for two to three hours, depending on your package, with time for two to three outfit changes. The studio wardrobe is available to browse on the day: robes, body jewellery, and accessories, all cleaned and steamed before use.
03 The Reveal
This is the part most clients say they didn't expect. The Reveal takes place a couple of weeks after your Experience. This is the moment where all the puzzle pieces that you’ve worked so hard for fall into place.
We sit down together and view your photographs for the first time, on-screen, side by side.
Every photograph that makes you catch your breath (and there will be some!), we will talk through together. Every thought that's less kind, every instinct to find fault, I will be there to help you. I will gently redirect your attention. I will ask you to notice what you felt that day, not just what you see now. I will coach you, without pressure, toward seeing yourself the way the photographs already do.
You leave the Reveal with more than just photographs.
You leave having been reminded of something about yourself that you had forgotten, or perhaps never quite believed.
Four walls. Warm light. Nowhere to be but here.
There's a reason most people choose the studio for their first boudoir experience.
It's contained. It's private. The moment you walk through the door, the outside world stops. There's no weather to worry about, no passersby, no unpredictability. Just you, the light, and a space that has been designed entirely around making you feel at ease.
The studio is based in Glasgow: accessible by public transport and car, with an elevator and full disabled access. Inside, it's warm and unhurried. There is no clock on the wall that you need to watch.

The things you might be wondering
-
It's not just normal, it's almost universal! Every single person who has walked into the studio has felt it. The session is specifically designed to begin slowly, giving you time to settle before anything is captured. By the time the camera comes out, the nerves have almost always shifted into something closer to excitement.
-
That is exactly the whole point of this experience, this experience can help you shift your mindset towards yourself and your body. You do not need to arrive feeling confident. You just need to arrive.
-
Your photographs remain completely private unless you give explicit permission to share specific photographs.
-
Every feeling that comes up during the reveal is a normal part of the process, and you won't be alone with any of it. I’ll be there with you and we will work through it together. Many clients say the reveal was harder and more meaningful than the session itself. That's not a problem. That's the transformation.
-
Completely. Your photographs will never be shared, used, or referenced without your explicit permission. What happens in the studio stays there entirely unless you choose otherwise.
-
Yes, absolutely. As a proud member of the community myself, everyone is welcome in front of my lens. Marieke Captures is, and always will be, a safe and empowering space for all identities. Whether you’re trans, non-binary, queer, femme, or anywhere in between
The hardest part is sending the first message.
Everything after that is taken care of. No pressure, no commitment, and no such thing as a silly question.
Once you fill in the form, I will be in touch personally to schedule a free video consultation: a private, relaxed chat where you can ask anything, share what brought you here, and get a real feel for whether this experience is right for you.
Most people leave that call wishing they'd reached out sooner!
