Shibari Through the Lens of Boudoir Photography - Glasgow

Shibari, at its essence, is a practice of connection: a dialogue between rope and skin, intention and sensation, presence and trust.

With each knot you embrace what feels true and authentic in that moment. You might choose to tie yourself, allowing the experience to become a meditative ritual of connection with yourself or share it with someone you trust, letting it unfold as an intimate exchange of presence and deep communication.

This is an experience centred on you: your comfort, your boundaries, your expression.

Marieke (the photographer) doesn’t tie because I believe you, and only you, or your trusted partner, know your body best. What I offer instead is a safe, thoughtful space where your experience can be witnessed, honoured, and beautifully documented.
If you'd like to understand more about the wider boudoir photography experience at Marieke Captures, you can explore that here.

Shibari is one of the more unique ways a session at Marieke Captures can unfold, but it is far from the only one. Every experience is built entirely around you, your comfort, and what feels most authentic to who you are.

If you're new to boudoir and wondering what a session looks like from beginning to end, your first boudoir experience guide answers every question you might have. And if you're drawn to the idea of something equally distinctive and personal, the Ethereal Gold add-on might also speak to you.

When you're ready to begin, I'm here.
