Minimalist line art drawing of a leafy plant

The wedding gave you a reason. But this experience is for you.

A private wedding boudoir experience in Glasgow — for anyone who wants to feel extraordinary before the biggest day of their life

Minimalist line drawing of a plant with leaves on a black background.

Nearly every person who books a wedding boudoir experience says the same thing: they had been thinking about this long before the wedding came along.

The wedding just finally made it happen.

A full morning carved out for yourself, in the middle of all the planning and the possible stress, just you, celebrated and guided, with nothing else to think about. And if the timing happens to align with the most significant day of your life, all the better.

For many people, this experience is two things at once. A private act of self-celebration before a day that is so special, and one of the most intimate, considered gifts you could ever give your partner. A private album waiting in a box on the morning of your wedding. Polaroids slipped across with a cheeky smile during the day. Something that is entirely yours to give, because it was entirely yours to make.

Both reasons are real. Both are worth it.

And the experience itself: that part belongs to you, entirely and unapologetically, an experience that will continue to be precious even after your wedding day.

Before you celebrate your love, celebrate yourself.

Wedding planning is relentless. It asks for your attention, your decisions, your energy, and your presence: constantly, for months.

A wedding boudoir experience is the opposite of that. It is a day that belongs only to you. No guest lists, no timelines, no decisions to make. Just you, in a private studio space where nothing else exists for a few hours.

People arrive at this experience carrying nerves and excitement. Leaving with confidence and having embraced their bodies.

That feeling walks down the aisle with you.

And the photographs, whether you keep them entirely for yourself or gift them to your partner on the day of your wedding, your honeymoon or for a special anniversary (it is a great ‘‘paper’’ gift!).

Know that this is the gift people describe for years afterwards.

The Full Experience, Step by Step

01 The Consultation

Every experience begins with a private video consultation.

You'll talk about what brought you here, what you're hoping to feel, and what worries you most. We will take the time to answer every question honestly, walk you through exactly what to expect on the day, and help you think through your outfits and the look you want to create. We can lean into the wedding vibes, do something entirely else, or do a fun combination of everything.

You'll also receive a full preparation guide: covering everything from what to bring, to how to prepare your skin, to what to do with nerves when they arrive on the morning of your session.

By the time you arrive at the studio, nothing feels unknown.

02. The Experience

You arrive. There's music. There are warm drinks. There is no rush.

Before a single photograph is taken, we will take the time to make sure you feel genuinely settled: not just politely comfortable, but actually at ease. This sometimes takes ten minutes. Sometimes it takes longer. It doesn't matter.

Throughout the session, you are guided through every movement, every expression. You don't need to know what to do with your hands. You don't need to know how to stand. You don't need modelling experience, or confidence, or a body you've made peace with yet. All you have to do is show up. After this experience, it is a guarantee that your wedding photographs will feel like a breeze!

Sessions run for two to three hours, depending on your package, with time for two to three outfit changes. The studio wardrobe is available to browse on the day: robes, body jewellery, and accessories, all cleaned and steamed before use.

03 The Reveal

This is the part most clients say they didn't expect. The Reveal takes place a couple of weeks after your Experience. This is the moment where all the puzzle pieces that you’ve worked so hard for fall into place.

We sit down together and view your photographs for the first time, on-screen, side by side.

Every photograph that makes you catch your breath (and there will be some!), we will talk through together. Every thought that's less kind, every instinct to find fault, I will be there to help you. I will gently redirect your attention. I will ask you to notice what you felt that day, not just what you see now. I will coach you, without pressure, toward seeing yourself the way the photographs already do.

You leave the Reveal with more than just photographs.

You leave having been reminded of something about yourself that you had forgotten, or perhaps never quite believed.

‘‘a wedding gift for my husband, little did I know it would also be a gift for me’’

‘‘I went with Marieke Captures to do a boudoir photo shoot as a wedding gift for my husband, little did I know it would also be a gift for me, I found a new love and confidence for myself that I had lost after having my baby, my whole experience was amazing and so personal. I am overjoyed with the results and would highly recommend to anyone thinking about doing a boudoir shoot, if not for someone else then do it for you.’ - Gemma

The things you might be wondering.

  • As early as you can! especially if you want printed products ready to gift on your big day. Ideally three to six months before your wedding date gives the most flexibility for scheduling, editing, and delivery. That said, if your wedding is sooner, get in touch: it's always worth asking.

  • Absolutely! Many people opt to plan their wedding hair/make up trial on the same day as their boudoir experience. However, this is not a requirement whatsoever.

  • Then they are entirely yours! There is no expectation that these photographs are a gift. Many people book a wedding boudoir session purely for themselves, as a private act of self-celebration before a significant day, and never share the photographs with anyone. Both are completely valid.

  • Absolutely. The studio wardrobe includes veils and bridal accessories, and you are welcome to bring anything personal that you'd like to incorporate. Something meaningful: a piece of jewellery, a family heirloom, your partner's shirt , often makes the most significant photographs.

  • Your private online reveal session takes place approximately two to three weeks after your session.

  • Yes, absolutely. As a proud member of the community myself, everyone is welcome in front of my lens. Marieke Captures is, and always will be, a safe and empowering space for all identities. Whether you’re trans, non-binary, queer, femme, or anywhere in between

You’re allowed to be curious

No pressure, no commitment, and no such thing as a silly question.

Once you fill in the form, Marieke will be in touch personally to schedule a free video consultation: a private, relaxed chat where you can ask anything, share what brought you here, and get a real feel for whether this experience is right for you.

Most people leave that call wishing they'd reached out sooner!
