Boudoir Photography Scotland

The studio is where most people begin.

A private, fully guided boudoir experience in Glasgow: built for anyone who isn't sure they're ready, and is ready to discover that they were.

STEP INTO YOUR POWER

You've probably looked at boudoir photography before and thought: that's not for someone like me.

Maybe you don't feel comfortable in your own skin right now. Maybe your body has changed: after children, after illness, after a relationship that took something from you. Maybe you've spent so long being your own harshest critic that the idea of being photographed feels almost absurd.

That's not a reason not to do this. That's exactly the reason to.

The studio exists for people who arrive carrying all of that, and leave having set some of it down.

Boudoir isn't one thing. It's a starting point.

Most people arrive with a fixed idea of what this looks like: solo, in lingerie, in a studio. And that is absolutely one version of it. But it's only one.

Solo boudoir No occasion required, no explanation needed. Wanting this for yourself is reason enough.

Couples boudoir An intimate, private experience shared with a partner: equal parts connection and celebration.

Maternity boudoir A chance to pause in the middle of a powerful chapter and honour exactly where you are, before it closes.

Wedding boudoir A moment of calm that belongs entirely to you, and perhaps the most beautiful surprise you could ever give a partner.

Shibari boudoir The Japanese art of rope combined with the intimacy of boudoir: bold, artistic, and deeply personal.

Milestone boudoir A birthday, an anniversary, a divorce, a chapter survived. No milestone is too small, and no story too complicated to deserve photographs.

Personal ritual boudoir Sometimes people book because they've spent years putting themselves last, and they're done with that. Sometimes they don't fully know why, they just know they need it.

All of it is welcome here.

The Full Experience, Step by Step

01 The Consultation

Every experience begins with a private video consultation.

You'll talk about what brought you here, what you're hoping to feel, and what worries you most. Every question gets an honest answer, and by the time you arrive at the studio, nothing feels unknown.

02. The Experience

You arrive. There's music. There are warm drinks. There is no rush.

Before a single photograph is taken, we take the time to make sure you feel genuinely settled: not just politely comfortable, but actually at ease. Throughout the experience, you are guided through every movement, every expression. You don't need to know what to do with your hands. You don't need modelling experience, or confidence, or a body you've made peace with yet. All you have to do is show up.

03 Same Day Reveal

When your shoot is finished, you don't go home and wait.

You head out for an hour: a local café, a moment to breathe, a chance to let it all settle. Then you come back.

We sit together and go through your photographs while everything is still fresh and you are feeling amazing.

Looking back at yourself can be confronting. That's exactly why we do this together. If any loud voices show up, the ones that want to find fault before you've even had a chance to feel anything, I'll be right there. We face them together, and more often than not, the photographs say it louder than those voices ever could.

Everyone who has done this says the same thing: seeing yourself on the same day is completely different from waiting. Because waiting gives the old voice time to come back. The same-day reveal closes that window entirely.

04. Delivery & Keepsakes

Your hand-edited photographs arrive in a private online gallery within two weeks of your experience, ready to download and keep. If you'd like your photographs to exist as something you can hold, printed artwork and albums are available to add. We'll talk through what feels right for where you are.

The things you might be wondering

  • It's not just normal, it's almost universal! Every single person who has walked into the studio has felt it. The session is specifically designed to begin slowly, giving you time to settle before anything is captured. By the time the camera comes out, the nerves have almost always shifted into something closer to excitement.

  • After your shoot, you head out for around an hour: a coffee, some lunch, a moment to let the morning settle. Then you come back and we go through your photographs together on the same day, while everything is still fresh. You'll see every selected photograph, take your time, and choose the ones that feel most like you. There's no pressure and no rush. Most people say it was the part of the day they least expected, and the part they remember most.

  • That is exactly the whole point. This experience can help you shift how you see yourself and your body. You don't need to arrive feeling confident. You just need to arrive.

  • Your photographs remain completely private unless you give explicit permission to share specific photographs.

  • Every feeling that comes up during the reveal is a normal part of the process, and you won't be alone with any of it. I’ll be there with you and we will work through it together. Many clients say the reveal was harder and more meaningful than the session itself. That's not a problem. That's the transformation.

  • Completely. Your photographs will never be shared, used, or referenced without your explicit permission. What happens in the studio stays there entirely unless you choose otherwise.

  • Yes, absolutely. As a proud member of the community myself, everyone is welcome in front of my lens. Marieke Captures is, and always will be, a safe and empowering space for all identities. Whether you’re trans, non-binary, queer, femme, or anywhere in between, you are welcome here, exactly as you are.

The hardest part is sending the first message.

Everything after that is taken care of.

Once you fill in the form, I'll be in touch personally: no pressure, no commitment, and no such thing as a silly question. Just a real conversation about whether this feels right for you.

Most people leave that call wishing they'd reached out sooner.
